Chemical Sensitivity-The Frontier of Diagnosis and Treatment

چکیده
The history of chemical sensitivity (CS) concept is quite old; it was established in the 1950s as part of the environmental illness. Following this, in the beginning of 1980s various respiratory symptoms with induced inhalation, such as perfume inhalation, were identified through many reported cohort studies. Thereafter, CS was relabeled as multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). This was introduced in Japan in the 1990s, but standardized diagnostic criteria or diagnostic guidelines were not yet established at the time. However, despite the presence of CS symptoms in patients, the actual pathogenesis has not yet been developed, and the management of this condition will differ significantly depending on the medical institution. As a biggest season for that, we would like to report on the considerable difficulty in establishing the causal relationship between exposures to small amounts of chemical substances in the environment compared to large amounts. Therefore, establishing and standardizing highly specified objective diagnostic parameters is required. In this paper, we propose a scientific approach to the management of CS, by introducing the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment and provide insight into requirements for future study. 《Key words》 chemical sensitivity, olfactory stimulation, olfactory response, psychological-somatic symptoms, methods of objective examination Jpn J Clin Ecol (Vol.25 No.2 2016) 50

Sensitivity Analysis and Finding the Stability Region with Adding DMUs in DEA
One of the important issues in data envelopment analysis (DEA) is sensitivity analysis. Heretofore the existent studies have considered the data modification of inputs and outputs in one or multiple DMUs. In this paper the number of DMUs is increased and a stability region is obtained in by applying defining hyperplanes in which if the added DMU (only one DMU) is in this region then all of the...

Background & Aims: A successful treatment in the field of medical sciences depends on an accurate diagnosis. In orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning also analyzing the sagittal jaw base relationship is important. Various methods have been suggested for this. This study aimed to investigate the accuracy of beta angle in sagittal jaw base relationship diagnosis. Materials & Methods: In t...

In this investigation, the structural, electronic properties, 13C and 1H NMR parameters and firsthyperpolarizability of Z-Ligustilide were explored. As well, the solvent effect on structural parameters, frontier orbital energies, electronic transitions, and 13C and 1H NMR parameters was illustrated based on Polarizable Continuum Model (PCM).These consequences specify that the polarity of solven...
متن کاملUltrasonographic Triangular Cord Sign and Gallbladder Abnormality in Diagnosis of Biliary Atresia
Introduction: Early diagnosis of biliary atresia is very important for better outcome of treatment. Ultrasonography is one of the diagnostic tools for early differentiation of biliary atresia from other causes of neonatal cholestasis. It has been reported that triangular cord sign (TACS) in sonography is a reliable sign for diagnosis of biliary atresia. The aim of this study was to re-assess ...
